01 — Six ways

Six ways coaching can help.

These are the six I work with most. They are not a checklist, and you do not have to name yours perfectly before we speak.

  1. Build confidence & self-belief

Strengthen your strengths, reduce self-doubt, and feel more assured in both personal and professional settings.

  2. Manage stress & prevent burnout

Learn tools to handle pressure, set boundaries, and create a healthier work-life balance.

  3. Navigate change & transitions

Gain clarity and resilience through career changes, role shifts, or personal turning points.

  4. Improve emotional wellbeing

Understand your thought and behaviour patterns, and respond more effectively under stress.

  5. Clarify goals & direction

Reconnect with your values, define meaningful goals, and move forward with intention.

  6. Break patterns & strengthen relationships

Shift unhelpful habits, improve communication, and build healthier personal or professional relationships.

The ring breathes. Each tick is one of the six ways.

02 — The Reset

Running on empty is not a character flaw.

Feel like you’re running on empty? Operating with a sense that things just don’t feel right? Or maybe physical symptoms are getting you down — poor sleep, sluggish digestion, mood swings?

It’s very likely your nervous system is not in balance, or ‘regulated’ as often as it should be. Understanding what knocks you off balance, and learning the resources that bring you back into alignment, is a first step towards feeling like you again.

Life has a way of pulling you in every direction — expectations, responsibilities, relationships, career… all while you quietly wonder: ‘Is this really how I want my life to feel?’

03 — How it works

First a conversation. Then a rhythm.

It starts with a free 30-minute discovery call, online. Nothing is decided before that, and nothing is charged before we have spoken.

  1. The discovery call

Thirty minutes, free, online. You describe what is going on, and I tell you how I work. There is no obligation to book anything after it.

  2. What we work on

If it feels right, we agree what you want to work on and the rhythm of sessions. You set the pace.

  3. The sessions

We meet online. Between sessions there are tools to try — chosen for you, not for everyone.

  4. Review as we go

We look at what is shifting and what is not, and adjust. You can stop at any point.

05 — About

Three decades in agencies. Then a different kind of listening.

I trained as a business coach in 2021, after three decades running PR and communications agencies. In 2023 I completed my therapeutic coaching certification with Alex Howard Therapeutic Coaching.

I am a certified therapeutic, business and management coach and experienced mentor. I am also a qualified yoga and mindfulness teacher.

I am a single parent to two almost grown-up children, and Tilly the dog is walked around Bristol most days. I love travel and culture. The space I keep is non-judgemental and unhurried: somewhere you can pause and reflect without being rushed along.

We invited Joanna to deliver a series of ‘Mindfulness at Work’ sessions for our team, and the experience has been great. Joanna brings a calm, grounded presence and an ability to make mindfulness feel completely accessible, even for those who are brand new to it. Her sessions combined practical, easy-to-use techniques with thoughtful guidance on managing stress, improving focus, and cultivating a sense of clarity during the working day. What stood out most was her skill in creating a welcoming, reflective space—something not easy to achieve in a busy workplace environment. Our colleagues left each session feeling noticeably more relaxed, centred, and better equipped to support their own wellbeing throughout the day.

Linley, corporate client

You have been such a great coach. You have been fantastic, reassuring and grounding but also, light and fun energy for me this year.

Hannah, therapeutic coaching client

Jo is a fantastic coach who has helped me massively over the past year. She is clam, understanding & above all human. I highly recommend Jo to anyone who may be struggling at the moment or just needs a few techniques in order to cope with general ‘life’ issues.

07 — Questions

A few things people ask.

If your question is not here, email me and I will answer it.

What is therapeutic coaching?

It is coaching that works with what sits underneath the practical question: the patterns, thoughts, feelings and behaviours that shape how life feels. We still work towards something you want to be different.

Is it online or in person?

Sessions are online, which is why I work with clients outside Bristol as well. 1:1 sessions are available for clients in Bristol.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies, and I will not promise a number. We agree the rhythm on the discovery call and review it as we go.

Is it confidential?

Coaching conversations are private. My privacy and data policy sets out how your details are handled — ask me for a copy at any point.

What are the free tools?

A nervous system self-check, which takes a few minutes and includes coping strategies you can use straight away, and a confidence guide. Both are free.

How do I start?

Email or call me and we will find a time for a free 30-minute discovery call. There is no obligation, and never a hard sell.

Still wondering? Email me.
